PIT LANE Clothing is a lifestyle and activewear fashion brand for 'anyone with a racer's spirit'.

OUR STORY

PIT LANE Clothing was founded by an actual race car driver from Australia, Jack Atley - who ironically, wanted a cool range of clothes to wear when he was NOT racing.

Jack knew the popularity of motorsport and the passion for autos globally - in particular F1 - but found the majority of apparel on the market was either team branded or stereotypical showing 'hard nosed skulls and crossbones with chequered flags'.

As a competitive race car driver, he understood that motorsport and racing was about alot more than this and set out to develop a range of apparel which was more subtle - one that captured the 'spirit of racing' - with activewear that could be worn as much by an Executive at his child's Saturday morning sporting game as a rebel on the street.

Prior to Founding PIT LANE Clothing, Atley had accumulated an incredibly unique combination of experience across international media, business and sport.

He bagan working as a professional photographer, aged just 18 at The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper in Australia.

In the deadline driven, 'split-second decision' making world of International sports photography, an extensive professional career followed with Jack going on to become one of Australia’s most awarded photographers - taking out accolades such as: The Australian Press Photographer of the Year Award (the highest award possible for press photographers) and Winning the overall First Place in the world’s most prestigous photography arts competition - The Moran Prize - his winning portrait being selected from 30,000 entries.
Working on staff as a photographer for the globe's leading daily news agencies (Getty Images, Reuters, Associated Press, Bloomberg) he travelled the world, covering: The Olympic Games, World Cup Soccer, Ashes Cricket, Grand Slam Tennis, PGA Golf, Moto GP, US Presidents Tours and photographing athletes such as: Michael Schumacher, Tiger Woods, Roger Federer and Michael Jordan among others.

At the pinnacle he also spent 2 years working from London, photographing Formula 1, working on staff for the world's leading F1 photo agencies.

Returning to Australia and with the advent of iphones, in 2014 Jack shelved photography and headed into his real passion - motorsport.

To support his own racing he began working professionally in the global share and foreign exchange markets. The role gave him more insight into international business.

As a driver, initially starting in Formula Ford, he has competed across Australian Formula Ford, Bathurst 6hr endurance races and the Porsche 944 championships.
He was selected as an instructor for the AMG Mercedes Benz Driving Academy and achieved a lifelong ambition when he tested an actual Formula 1 car, at the Paul Ricard circuit in France.

PIT LANE CLOTHING now sells worldwide, provides apparel to a range of race circuits, major racing championships, race teams and individual drivers.
