PIT LANE CLOTHING DRIVER WILLIAMS LEADS PORSCHE ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP

Australian motorsport fashion brand PIT LANE CLOTHING’s sponsored driver, KOBI WILLIAMS has left Queensland Raceway and Round 3 of the 2026 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Series leading the Jim Richards Enduro Trophy championship.

Another strong weekend saw the Victorian fight back after early weekend dramas.

Williams had only just made the start of the race after technical issues in qualifying saw him last of the Pro cars and outside the top 10.

14th at the end of lap one, the two-time 2026 race winner methodically worked his way through the field and had climbed to eighth prior to a late-race and brief safety car to extract Diesel Thomas from the sand trap at turn two.

Williams then passed two more cars to end up sixth in a strong salvage effort.

Race 2 again saw him gain places, eventually finishing 4th in another safety car shortened race, held in wet conditions on Saturday morning.

The final, Race 3 of the weekend, enabled Williams to pounce, battling fiercely with Lincoln Taylor throughout and ultimately claiming the overall fastest lap.

Williams, who had won the previous two JR Enduro encounters earlier in the season, looked to have sealed his third before Taylor fought back and re-took the position with just a few laps remaining – then surviving a last-ditch challenge at the final corner to claim the win.

Williams is in his first year in the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Series and has previously taken the title of The Australian Formula Ford champion in 2025.

The strong weekend means Williams now leaves the Queensland circuit and Round 3 leading the highly competitive Jim Richards Enduro Trophy championship with 3 rounds to go.

The next round of Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge will see the series return to the streets of Townsville in July as the field returns to the NTI Townsville 500 for the third time.
